The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.
The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive as well. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that does an excellent job of collecting debris from unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many other options available. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. The design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable items in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. When it's time to recharge, it automatically returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.
The sleek G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It has a bigger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with heavy materials like cereal.
